چکیده
23 Although reservoir flow simulation is a mature technology, there is a general lack of understanding in the oil and gas industry as to when it should be applied, the limitations of it and how recent technical improvements have changed simulation. Streamline models have dramatically changed simulation work and made predictions better. Simple workflow and quality control issues are absolutely critical to insuring reasonable forecasts. There are various technologies that will substantially improve simulation forecasts and reduce error bars. Some of these new technologies are:

A Fully Integrated Approach for Better Determination of Fracture Parameters Using Streamline Simulation; A gas condensate reservoir case study in Iran
Many large oil and gas fields in the most productive world regions happen to be fractured. The exploration and development of these reservoirs is a true challenge for many operators. These difficulties are due to uncertainties in geological fracture properties such as aperture, length, connectivity and intensity distribution. To successfully address these challenges, it is paramount to im...
متن کاملRobust streamline tracing for the simulation of porous media flow on general triangular and quadrilateral grids
Streamline methods for subsurface-flow simulation have received renewed attention as fast alternatives to traditional finite volume or finite element methods. Key aspects of streamline simulation are the accurate tracing of streamlines and the computation of travel time along individual streamlines. In this paper, we propose a new streamline tracing framework that enables the extension of strea...
متن کاملA Prompt Sequential Method for Subsurface Flow Modeling Using the Modified Multi-scale Finite Volume and Streamline Methods
In this work, an innovative numerical algorithm accompanied by considerable accuracy is presented to reduce the computational cost of subsurface flow modeling. This method combines a modified multi-scale finite volume method (MMsFV) and streamline method based on the sequential approach. First, the modified multi-scale finite volume method, which includes a physical adaptation on the localizati...
متن کاملCoherent view-dependent streamline selection for importance-driven flow visualization
Streamline visualization can be formulated as the problem of streamline placement or streamline selection. In this paper, we present an importance-driven approach to view-dependent streamline selection that guarantees coherent streamline update when the view changes gradually. Given a large number of randomly or uniformly seeded and traced streamlines and sample viewpoints, our approach evaluat...
متن کاملGlyph and Streamline Placement Algorithms for Cfd Data Glyph and Streamline Placement Algorithms for Cfd Simulation Data
Visualization of flow on boundary surfaces from computational flow dynamics (CFD) is challenging due to the complex, adaptive resolution nature of the meshes used in the modeling and simulation process. Part one of this paper presents a fast and simple glyph placement algorithm in order to investigate and visualize flow data based on unstructured, adaptive resolution boundary meshes from CFD. T...
